Conor McGregor got arrested for alleged indecent exposure, according to reports.
The retired UFC fighter had been in the French region of Corsica with his fiancée Dee Devlin ahead of a scheduled 180km charity voyage across the Mediterranean Sea.
He was set to partake in the event alongside Charlene, Princess of Monaco in a bid to raise awareness for water safety but has now withdrawn.
Sources tell MM the Irishman was taken into custody following a complaint that was filed on September 10 – alleging he was responsible for “acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition”.
A statement from the prosecutor read:
“Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Mr. Conor Anthony McGregor was the subject of a hearing by the police.”
As per one of the Notorious’ representatives, McGregor “vigorously denied” the accusations made.
“Conor Mcgregor vigorously denies any accusations of misconduct,” a representative for McGregor told MM. “He has been interviewed and released.”
Yesterday, having spent a fair amount of time in the area and been in attendance for the Tour de France cycling event, McGregor took to Twitter to reveal USADA, UFC’s drug testing committee had turned up to his yacht despite him claiming to be retired from mixed martial arts.
The two-weight world champion then proceeded to tag former opponent Nate Diaz, who he recently called out alongside his brother Nick.
What’s going on here @ufc? USADA have just arrived to my yacht this morning for testing?
I’ve retired guys!
But go on then, I’ll allow them test me. It’s all natural here baby!
Forever and always, God Bless 🙏
