UFC Superstar Jon Jones Seemingly Asks For Release Appears To Vacate Light Heavyweight Title In A Twitter Rant

UFC superstar Jon Jones has seemingly attempted to quit the company and vacate his light heavyweight title in a lengthy Twitter tirade, slamming his current contract as well as president Dana White.

The 32-year old is the current 205-pound champion, and last fought Dominick Reyes in February.

Jones (26-1-1) is arguably the biggest star in the company – outside of perhaps Conor McGregor – but has been disgruntled recently due to his pay.

White hit out at Jones following Sunday’s UFC Fight Night event over the contract saga “I tarnished you? You’ve done a very good job of tarnishing you,” he said of the controversial star.

But Jones fired back on social media with a flurry of Tweets aimed at his boss. It is clear the Jones is not happy with current circumstances – but how far is he willing to take it.

Following up his earlier posts, the champion seemingly vacated the title over Twitter on Monday morning (AEST).

This is clearly just an attempt at leveraging for more money, which is a tactic as old as the day is long in the fight game.

But could Jones be legit about walking away from the title and the company? Only time will tell.
